Understanding Men and Women on Dates

April 7, 2008

The mystery of why people encounter more difficulties in building and maintaining intimate relationships with the opposite sex remains unsolved. For instance, there are ceaseless complaints about men and how they treat women. On the other hand, it is also not uncommon for many women to fall for the wrong kinds of men. Given these challenges, it is important to have a general understanding of how different (or similar) men and women can be, especially on dates, to establish harmony in relationships.

On dates, women always love to be desired and cherished. Flowers and chocolates, however conventional they may be, make women feel very special, so men out there should be armed with these gifts on a date. Pick-up lines, on the other hand, are not exactly flattering, since many women nowadays are not easily swayed by words; a bad pick-up line may even send false signals and convey the more shallow intentions of men. So, if you really want to please a woman on a date, just be more sensitive and sincere. Engage in easy conversations. Compliment them, if you must, but not too much, since sincerity is still the most noble requirement of some women in their dates.

On the other hand, on dates, most men may appear to be strong and withdrawn from their feelings. But unknowingly, men value trust and confidence. So when women are out with their men on dates, they should be open and not uptight, even on the first date; however, openness should not mean that only one party does all the talking. Meanwhile, when it comes to first impressions, men appreciate women who dress up for the occasion. They admire women who dress confidently, but not loudly, and wear nice scents to knock them off their feet.

Of course, with today’s generation, there can never be stereotypes. Individuals still have their own personalities so some dating dos and don’ts may or may not apply. Nevertheless, both men and women should make the most out of their dates. After all, when a couple clicks and has a good time on a date, regardless of their diverse attributes, everything just falls into place.
